Leanne Elias = Rocket Annie
I am an Assistant Professor in the department of New Media, Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lethbridge. My active research areas include mobile learning, information design - particularly on small devices, and typographic systems.
I have just finished a 2.5 year term as Development Chair of the IT and New Media Community of Practice for the Alberta Association of Colleges and Technical Institutes. My goal was to build capacity for Applied Research involving community, industry and research partners.
I am on the executive of Digital Alberta, an industry-led organization devoted to promoting and connecting our thriving digital media community across Alberta, Canada. Through professional development workshops, advocacy work, and business development activity, Digital Alberta is building the digital media industry provincially and promoting it abroad.
I've just completed my tenure as President of the Board of Directors for the Southern Alberta Art Gallery, one of Canada's leading Contemporary art galleries for its size.
